Doing a daily painting has been so rewarding for me.
I am much more creative and happy and motivated, plus I've
built up a big body of new work.
So moving forward into summer, I am going to start a new challenge
which I hope I can turn into a habit. How many days does it take
to form a new habit? Maybe 60 or so....? I'm going to sketch
at least 1 spread a day in my sketchbook. It's something I regret
not doing for so many years. Simple or complicated, whatever
I have time for. I also want to play with photoshop so I will use the daily
page to practice and play.
These are fun! I really like those loose ink lines and the different tones. Great start so far!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jen! I just want to play and experiment. I'm always impressed with your sketching, I haven't gotten that far yet...
DeleteGood on you...I've been meaning to do this for ages too. Have I started? No, always a million excuses. You're right, it's all about creating new habits by being consistent. Looking forward to seeing more!
ReplyDeleteI know Carla, that's why I'm going "public"! It makes me feel accountable.
DeleteOoh, these are great! Lovely loose style! This is the kind of thing I need to practice - loosening up a bit and filling sketchbooks.. very inspirational, I look forward to seeing more!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your new habit! Terrific loose sketch and I really love the layout of colors you chose.
ReplyDeleteI totally understand what you're saying about your new habit! I started mine (daily art, or at least 5-6 days) almost two years ago now, and it was hard at first but so rewarding! If you're going to be posting so much I'll have to drop in more often. :)
Love the colour and the freedom to your new sketches. I love my Mac and Photoshop but you still can't beat getting out your pens, pencils and paints! :)
ReplyDeleteCindy and Amanda, you are both so prolific, I'm glad it's been so rewarding for you, I can see that it makes a huge difference to just DO something everyday.
ReplyDeleteIt's always so great to see the amazing digital skills you have Amanda!
